Gender Bias Living in a patriarchal society it is natural that we see women often in not so flattering light even in advertisements. It is essentially a female character if it is a dish wash ad or cooking oil ad. Although on e must admit the mindset is slowly changing. I was happy to note the advertisement of a health drink where a teenage girl child was shown changing the tyre of her car. Visual images create a strong impact on one’s mind especially if the person is young. So if our students are exposed to more of such examples not only on screen but also in real life I suppose it will certainly go a long way in creating a healthy and balanced society.
ICT can be integrated with assessment by using software like google forms (which we are already doing in Army Public School Barrackpore) or Kahoot, about which I came to know through NISHTHA courses. I must say it is very effective as not only the teachers but the students and parents alike become aware of the performance of the child and the backlogs where more work is needed.
